The world’s cheapest smartphone ‘Jiophone Next’

Mukesh Ambani announced that Google and Reliance Jio have jointly developed the world’s cheapest smartphone. Its name is JioPhone ‘Next’. It will be available in the market from 10 September i.e. Ganesh Chaturthi. The new smartphone will be equipped with features and apps from Jio and Google. This smartphone has been specially made for the Indian market and will also get the best camera and Android updates. Last year, Reliance Jio announced a partnership with Google.

Oxygen made in Reliance is being provided to 1 out of every 10 patients


In the Annual General Meeting of Reliance Industries, Reliance Foundation Chairperson Nita Ambani said that 11 percent of the country’s medical grade oxygen is being manufactured by Reliance Industries. This is the most oxygen being produced by any company at any one place. Nita Ambani said that world class medical grade liquid oxygen was made in our Jamnagar refinery. One out of every 10 Kovid patients in the country is being made available in Reliance Industries. Reliance Industries (RIL) has set a record of producing 1100 mt of oxygen per day in just 2 weeks. This service is being given to the country free of cost. He further said that Reliance Foundation is doing everything possible in the fight against Corona. Reliance Foundation has started 5 missions to fight Corona. Under this, Mission Oxygen, Mission Kovid Infra, Mission Anna Sewa, Mission Employee Care and Mission Vaccine Suraksha are included.

Will invest Rs 75000 crore in clean energy


Mukesh Ambani has announced a big step in the field of green energy. He announced an investment of Rs 75,000 crore to set up four large capacity manufacturing plants over the next three years to manufacture solar photovoltaic cells, green hydrogen, power storage batteries and fuel cells. He said Reliance will set up 1,00,000 MW of solar power generation capacity. A total investment of Rs 60,000 crore will be made in these four manufacturing plants. In addition, Rs 15,000 crore will be spent on future technologies including value chain, partnership and exploration and production and refining and marketing.

India will become 2G free, 5G enabled


Mukesh Ambani has expressed confidence that only Reliance Jio will start 5G in the country. Reliance Jio has made tremendous strides in developing state-of-the-art standalone 5G technology, a giant leap for wireless broadband. Mukesh Ambani said that during the 5G trials, Jio has successfully achieved speeds of more than 1 Gbps. Mukesh Ambani described Jio’s ‘Made in India’ solution as world class. Jio is testing 5G technology in many cities including Delhi, Mumbai.

Mukesh Ambani said that 5G standalone network has been installed at data centers spread across the country and due to the robust network architecture of Reliance Jio, upgradation from 4G to 5G can be done easily. Jio will develop best applications for healthcare, education, entertainment, retail and economy. Jio will try to make India a global hub for 5G development and exports. Once Jio’s 5G solution becomes successful at the India level, it will have potential for export to other countries around the world.

Saudi Aramco chairman to join the board of directors of Reliance

Reliance has appointed Saudi Aramco as a strategic partner for its O2C business. Yasser Othman Al-Rumayan, chairman of Saudi Aramco and head of PIF, a leading asset fund there, will join Reliance Industries’ board as an independent director. His appointment comes ahead of the completion of a $15 billion deal between the two sides. Two years ago, Ambani had informed about plans to sell a 20 per cent stake in the company’s oil-chemicals (O2C) arm to Saudi Aramco. Al-Rumayen, 51, a Harvard University graduate, will succeed Yogendra P Trivedi, 92, in his place. On selling 20 per cent stake in the O2C business, Ambani said the deal is expected to be completed this year.
