New Delhi: The Badminton World Federation on Friday introduced that this yr’s US Open and Canada Open is not going to happen as a result of COVID-19 “restrictions and problems” throughout the globe.

The US Open, a Tremendous 300 event on the HSBC BWF World Tour, was slated to be performed from 6 to 11 July, whereas the Tremendous 100 event in Canada Open was scheduled for 29 June to 4 July.

“The continued COVID-19 restrictions and problems left native organisers no selection however to cancel the tournaments,” BWF mentioned in a press release.

“The respective selections of USA Badminton and Badminton Canada have been made in session and settlement with the BWF,” it added.

The cancellations comply with the information that Badminton Asia has postponed its flagship occasion — the Asia Championships — which have been to function an Olympic qualifying occasion.
