Vidisha: Senior BJP chief and former Madhya Pradesh minister Laxmikant Sharma died of coronavirus at a non-public hospital, household sources stated on Tuesday.
Sharma, 60, succumbed to the lethal an infection at Chirayu Hospital and Medical School on Monday evening, the hospital’s director Dr Ajay Goenka stated.
The senior BJP chief is survived by his spouse and three daughters, the household sources acknowledged.
Sharma’s final rites have been carried out at Sironj, his ancestral city, in Vidisha district with full state honours on Tuesday, they stated.
Sharma was elected as an MLA from Sironj Meeting seat for 4 phrases in 1993, 1998, 2003 and 2008.
