New Delhi: India and Pakistan have agreed to strictly observe all agreements on ceasefire alongside the Line of Management (LoC) and different sectors, based on a joint assertion on Thursday.
The choice on ceasefire, efficient since Wednesday midnight, was taken at a gathering between the Director Generals of Navy Operations (DGMOs) of India and Pakistan.
The DGMOs held discussions over the established mechanism of hotline contact and reviewed the state of affairs alongside the Line of Management and all different sectors in a “free, frank and cordial environment”.
“Within the curiosity of reaching mutually useful and sustainable peace alongside the borders, the 2 DGMOs agreed to handle one another’s core points and considerations which have the propensity to disturb peace and result in violence. Either side agreed for strict observance of all agreements, understandings and stop firing alongside the Line of Management and all different sectors with impact from midnight of 24/25 February,” the joint assertion mentioned.
