Mumbai: The Adani Group, owned by Gautam Adani, has finally taken over the management of Mumbai Airport. Gautam Adani tweeted about it. “We are committed to further enhancing the prestige of Mumbai Airport and we will do it successfully,” Adani tweeted. Gautam Adani also claimed that through this, a large number of jobs will be created across the country.
The decision was taken at a meeting of the board of directors of Adani Airport Holdings Limited on Tuesday. The Adani Group will have a 74 per cent stake in Mumbai Airport Management. The group has already acquired a 50.5 per cent stake in GVK Group and another 23.5 per cent will be bought from airport company South Africa (ACSA) and other minority partners, the Bidwest Group, the release said.
The Adani Group now controls four major airports in the country. Earlier, Adani Group had taken control of Lucknow, Mangalore and Ahmedabad airports. After that, Mumbai is now the fourth airport owned by the Adani Group. After this, Jaipur, Guwahati and Thiruvananthapuram airports are also likely to be taken over by Adani Group. The process is expected to be completed in July.
All these airports will be owned by the Adani Group for the next 50 years. During this period, the development, administration and maintenance of these airports will be done by Adani Group. The Adani Group aims to take over more airports in the country.
