Wellington: A New Zealand tv commentator who adopted a mock Asian accent throughout a post-game rugby interview on Friday is more likely to maintain his job regardless of an outpouring of public criticism.

Joe Wheeler, a former New Zealand Maori consultant who commentates for the cable community Sky Sport, used the accent after the Tremendous Rugby Aotearoa match between the Highlanders and Crusaders.
