South Africa vs Pakistan: Proteas fined for sustaining sluggish over-rate in first ODI

Dubai: South Africa have been fined 20 p.c of their match price for sustaining a sluggish over-rate in opposition to Pakistan of their first ODI in Centurion.

Andrew Pycroft of the ICC Elite Panel of Match Referees imposed the sanction after South Africa was one over wanting the goal after time allowances have been considered.

“In accordance with Article 2.22 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Gamers and Participant Assist Personnel, which pertains to minimal over-rate offences, gamers are fined 20 per cent of their match charges for each over their facet fails to bowl within the allotted time,” the ICC stated in a launch.

South Africa skipper Temba Bavuma pleaded responsible to the offence and accepted the proposed sanction, so there was no want for a proper listening to.

Umpires Marais Erasmus, Adrian Holdstock, Allahudien Paleker and Bongani Jele leveled the cost.

Pakistan had received the primary ODI by three wickets in opposition to South Africa.
