Paris: Tajikstan’s Dilshod Nazarov, who gained Olympic hammer gold within the 2016 Rio Video games, was on Thursday banned for 2 years for doping, the Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) introduced.

Re-testing of Nazarov’s pattern from the 2011 World Athletics Championships in Daegu, South Korea, had proven the presence of a prohibited substance, particularly DHCMT, or oral turinabol, a performance-enhancing anabolic steroid.

The AIU declared Nazarov ineligible for 2 years beginning 24 September, 2019, and scrubbed his outcomes between 29 August, 2011-August 29, 2013.

A 3-time Asian champion, Nazarov additionally gained world silver in Beijing in 2015 earlier than claiming his nation’s first-ever Olympic gold medal a 12 months later in Rio.
